Forensic Toxicologist I / STEM Educator
Savannah works as a Forensic Toxicologist on the NPS Discovery Team and is a STEM Educator at the CFSRE. She first joined the CFSRE in the summer of 2021 as the forensic chemistry mentor for the Forensic Sciences Mentoring Institute Program. She then returned the following summer as the FMI Program Coordinator and has continued in that role since. During the seven-week summer program, she organizes the training for three mentors in their respective disciplines and the daily schedule of high school students. She also facilitates guest speakers, off-site visits, and other lab-based activities.
During the rest of the year Savannah assists with teaching and coordinating field trips at the CFSRE. Savannah is also a part of the Forensics on the Fly Program, which brings forensic science lessons into local Philadelphia schools. As a graduate student she assisted with various toxicology projects at the CFSRE, while her thesis research focused on assessing the stability of NPS benzodiazepines in blood, urine, and serum. Savannah received her Master of Science in Forensic Toxicology from Thomas Jefferson University in 2024 and her Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science from Loyola University Chicago in 2022.
