The Center for Forensic Science Research & Education (CFSRE) is partnering with Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) to collaboratively offer a Master of Science in Forensic Toxicology (MSFT) degree program. Our unique program is designed to provide graduate students with a high-quality education specific to the exciting field of forensic toxicology with a specific focus on recent advancements in the field.
Forensic Toxicology is a fast-growing field pairing aspects of analytical chemistry, pharmacology, and fundamental toxicology.
This is a full-time, two-year (six semester) program with courses taught at the CFSRE in Horsham, PA, and at TJU – Center City in Philadelphia, PA.
Our MSFT program provides graduate students with expertise in all areas associated with forensic toxicology, including:
-
- Medicolegal death investigation and postmortem drug testing
- Human performance toxicology, including drug-impaired driving
- Forensic workplace drug testing
- Analytical and interpretative forensic toxicology
- Legal procedure and ethics
- Data analysis and interpretation
- And much more!
Our MSFT program gives students essential, hands-on training through the CFSRE’s clerkship/internship program. This practicum immerses students in mock casework analysis and provides students with experience in drug detection, characterization, extraction, and quantification, in addition to instrumental analysis, data interpretation and report writing. All CFSRE MS programs culminate in moot court experiences.
