Graduate Assistant
Nick graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with minors in Criminal Justice and Russian language. His internship at the North Carolina State Crime Lab led to an interest in drug chemistry and toxicology. He has had experience as an undergraduate chemistry tutor, research assistant, and technologist trainee in LabCorp's toxicology section in Burlington, North Carolina. As a graduate assistant at the CFSRE, Nick assists with various workflows in both drug chemistry and toxicology sections.Nick is currently working towards a Master of Science degree in Forensic Toxicology at Thomas Jefferson University in collaboration with the CFSRE. His thesis research focuses on the development, validation, and application of a quantitative LC-QQQ-MS method for infused paper samples containing synthetic cannabinoids.
