Senior Scientist/Adjunct Professor
Fran Graduated from Allentown College of St. Francis DeSales (now DeSales University) in 1975 with a B.S. degree in Chemistry. Fran started work at NMS labs in 1977 and stayed until 2020. During that time Fran worked in multiple departments as a research scientist, supervisor, and technical director. He developed and validated many analytical methods utilizing gas chromatography and liquid chromatography with mass spectrometric detection. Fran attended multiple training sessions regarding analytical techniques and specific instrumentation. Fran was involved with the implementation of new instruments and analytical techniques in the lab. He also worked on multiple drug-diversion projects and developed unique approaches for testing various pharmaceutical formulations.Fran published multiple papers and co-authored addition papers with the lab scientists involved with toxicology and specific methods used in casework. Fran joined the center for forensic science research and education (CFSRE) in 2009 during his time at NMS labs. During that time, Fran took on the role of adjunct professor for our master's course offering and taught Instrumental analysis lab and lecture courses. He continues to work as a senior scientist with additional contributions to analytical testing.
