Forensic Chemist I

Alexis QuinterAngel McDowell received her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with a focus on Forensic Science from Stockton University in the spring of 2019. During her time at Stockton, she assisted in the chemistry department’s laboratory preparation. The summer before her final year at Stockton, she interned with the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Laboratory, specifically their Trace Contraband Laboratory. While there, she spent her time researching the collection efficiency of sample swabs as a function of usage, which she then presented for the DHS and during her Chemistry Symposium at Stockton. She was then asked to extend her stay with the TSL to continue research on another topic to be published (TBD) while finishing her last year of her undergraduate degree. Angel joined the CFSRE team in 2024 as a Forensic Chemist I and is excited to follow her passion for forensic chemistry and research.
