Frederick Strathmann

Dr. Frederick Strathmann has been in laboratory medicine for over ten years and has held various positions, including Assistant Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Medical Director of Toxicology, Scientific Director of Mass Spectrometry, Assistant Laboratory Director in Forensic Toxicology, and Senior Vice President of Operations and R&D. He has worked in hospital and national reference laboratory environments, is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry in both Clinical Chemistry and Toxicological Chemistry and qualifies as a CLIA Certified Laboratory Director for High Complexity Testing. He completed his MS and Ph.D. in Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and a postdoctoral fellowship in Biomedical Genetics from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York, a Clinical Fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, and an MBA from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In his current role with MOBILion Systems, Dr. Strathmann’s primary focus is on positioning MOBILion’s unique capabilities in mass spectrometry to address industry and research needs in forensic testing, clinical chemistry, companion diagnostics, and early disease detection/liquid biopsy markets to bring transformational discoveries to market. His contributions to the FRFF and CFSRE include mentoring, teaching, providing online learning through his software company 4DQC, and striving to make new technologies and opportunities available to help support efforts to advance the capability, acceptance, and integrity of forensic science.
