Who You Are
You are a dedicated Forensic Biologist with a masterful command of DNA analysis and serology, ready to join the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education (CFSRE). With a Master's degree or higher in a relevant scientific field and at least a year of hands-on experience in a forensic laboratory, you are proficient in the intricacies of molecular biology and forensic techniques.
Required Skills:
- Strong background in molecular techniques, including experience with DNA extraction, quantification, DNA typing and interpretation methods.
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of Next-Generation Sequencing are highly preferred
- Knowledge of forensic laboratory procedures, evidence handling protocols, and chain of custody requirements.
- Experience with research including scientific abstracts/presentations and publications.
- Attention to detail and ability to work meticulously to avoid contamination or misinterpretation of evidence.
- Proficiency in scientific data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to non-specialist audiences.
- Adherence to ethical standards and principles of scientific integrity.
- Ability to handle potentially hazardous materials and follow safety protocols and regulations.
