Melanie Tanis is a rising senior at Duquesne University’s Forensic Science and Law program as a biochemistry major. After graduation in 2025 she will continue at Duquesne University to pursue her master's degree in forensic science and law. She is involved in research regarding the resilience of level IIIA bulletproof backpacks against 223 rifle rounds when the contents of the backpack vary. Currently, she is an intern at CSFRE in the forensic toxicology department and at the Philadelphia Division of the A.T.F. Bureau.
