Andrew Grimes is a senior studying at Appalachian State University dual majoring in biochemistry and forensic chemistry with a minor in biology. He currently works in an undergraduate research lab with the goal of isolating, identifying, and synthesizing a lipid found in a mammalian blood serum that inhibits phospholipase A2, an enzyme found in pit viper venom. Outside of school Andrew enjoys Boone through fishing, snowboarding, and skateboarding. After graduation, he plans to pursue further education in forensic toxicology before seeking a career in the same field.
